NFL star, SV cop playing charity softball

A clash of the titans will take place Saturday afternoon to raise money to help young people through an NFL star’s Believe and Achieve Foundation and the Rockland County Parent Aid Fund’s Foster Care Program.

The softball game starts at 4 p.m. at the Eugene Levy Park baseball fields on Route 45 in Ramapo. The game will be played rain or shine.

Billed as the cop versus the football player, the opposing teams are led by Tennessee Titan star linebacker Keith Bullock and Spring Valley Detective Reggie Anderson.

Bullock, a former Clarkstown North High School star, will lead a team of NFL athletes and entertainment celebrities. Anderson, a village cop for 20-plus years, will lead a group of officers and firefighters from across Rockland.

Bullock runs the Believe and Achieve Foundation. The Parent Aid Fund is affiliated with the Rockland Department of Social Services.

Some might say Bullock’s team holds an athletic and leadership edge — on paper. But games are won on the field. So the public is invited to watch the game and donate to a worthy cause. The game’s theme is “Batting to Build a Better Future.”
