Ross sentenced for murdering Karesse Ebron, 16

Shortly after 11:15 a.m today, Ryan Ross was sentenced to state prison for 22 years to life for murdering Karesse Ebron, 16, by beating her across the head with a baseball bat on June 13. Her clothed skeletal remains were found June 28 covered by bags of decomposting leaves across from Eugene Levy Memorial Park on Route 45 in Ramapo.
About 30 of Ebron’s family and friends today packed Judge Catherine Bartlett’s courtroom. Sharene McCullough spoke about her daughter’s death and the cold-hearted attack by Ross.
Ross, in his video-taped statement, claimed he killed Ebron because she was pregnant and she refused to aborted the fetus. Ross’s account could never be confirmed since Ebron is dead and the medical examiner found her body was too badly decomposed to determine if she was pregnant.
Reading from Ross’s pre-sentencing report by probation, Bartlett cited Ross’s comment that Ebron wouldn’t have died if she left him alone. He also claimed to have found Jesus in jail – drawing derisive comments from Ebron’s family and friends.
Based on Ross’s comments to probation officials, his lawyer, Gerard Damiani, asked Bartlett to delay sentencing so his client could be examined by a pyschiatrist. Bartlett turned down the motion, after Ross told her he understand he pleaded guilty to killing Ebron and answered her other questions, such as today’s date and who president of the United States was.
Ross faced a maximum sentence of 25 years to life and a minimum of 15 years to life. When Ross pleaded guilty in January to second-degree murder, Bartlett agreed to sentence him to 22 years to life. The prosecutor, Louis Valvo, and Ebron’s family repeated their calls for 25 years to life.

hmm if he confessed she was pregnant, according to the law inst that a double homicide?

There was no evidence to support a pregnancy. Her body was too decomposed, according to the Rockland Medical Examiner’s Office. So all the police and prosecutors know is what Ross told them.
How old is this guy?! 23. she was underage. stick him with statutory rape and sex offense vs. a minor. That should add years onto sentence as well as other things.
I want to say that Even though Ryan Ross killed my sister I thought it was wrong but you know what he is goin to rotted in jail and hell so i really don’t care to much of him this is coming from SPARKLE her little sister love Kendell,Kareem,Sparkle,Daddy,and Mommy,and The family RIP Karesse My Angel…
Well Ryan looked shooked so if she said she was having his kid well he should had let her keep she has falmily dat who would help her ryan was just being a little boy who cant take care of his child so he had to kill ma angel well she is in heavon now i dont have to worry about it anymore

Family Kenny and Sherene you were the best parents you could have been to her.You picked your family up and moved to what you knew would have been better for the family, this was fate and he will pay not by our hands but hands that are greater.
