Rockland Sheriff James Kralik will mix a bit of politics with law enforcement on Wednesday night at the Holiday Inn in Montebello.
The sheriff not only will announce his candidacy for a fifth, four-year term in November as Rockland’s top cop, but he also will review the county’s anti-terrorism planning and the challenges facing law enforcement in the county.
Kralik, a cop for 45 years, has become a major player across the state on anti-terrorism since the Sept. 11 attacks. He oversees the county’s anti-terrorism planning  and several planning strategies started in Rockland have become models for the state and federal authorities.
And Kralik never misses an opportunity to discuss the potential terrrorist threat. So Kralik will give his state of the law enforcement analysis during his re-election announcement from 6 to 8 p.m. The Holiday Inn is off Airmont Road and the New York State Thruway exit 14B.
Kralik is a registered Republican who has run previously with Democratic support. No one has declared as a challenger, yet.
